Stole Eoin's hatch catch idea.
Works nice.

Was going to go fishing this morning, but the kids held me up.
Not always a bad thing, the wind looks better tomorrow now and the lads "helped" with a project I've had on the books for a while.

Decided to knock up the yak trolley I've been meaning to sort out.

Basically, 90 X 35 pine with heavy duty wheels so I can load it up and roll it out of the way when I need to.
Also sits it at a nice height for working and provides a way to jack up the front and drain the hull/ hatch when the situation dictates.

squid and snapper mostly baggs.
Only because that's the only metro fish I know how to find close enough to shore.

I have always wanted to crack a Sampson fish from a yak. I know a relatively local place where they come in close enough that I've caught them land based.
I'm hoping I can paddle out and catch one there.

Last job left is the sounder install.
Not sure how I'm going to do it yet, but it won't be too long before motivation gets the better of me and it just happens.

Sampsons sound great...we have two marks around 2-3klm out if your interested in exploring like us....snapper are good at present....between two of us i can account for 13+ keepers in 3 weeks...ive caught the lesser of these numbers....

Most installs work....i use a Outside of Hull mount like in my build thread...a few have done it also....thru hullxworks also but ive switched to outside for my reasons...

Its a beautiful night tonight....my buddy will be pissed off with me as ive cancelled tonights trip for family sickness....but he will still go and im hoping will bag out as usual

Cheers mate,
I'm pretty keen on an external mount, but I'm not sure what way I'll Finalise the mount.
I know of 4 or 5 ways to do it, but havnt decided which s best.
At the end of the day, I think it will be the battery box which causes me the most grief anyway and I havnt even bought a battery yet - until that's here I ain't going to waste energy on t. I'll just mull it over in the meantime till I work out what is needed.

That's my front runner at the member baggs, but I'm trying to think of all the reasons I don't want it that way before I commit.
What did you do with the cables? Did you just run them under the hatch, or did you put dedicated plugs in?

Got out this morning, couldn't catch a cold.

On the plus side, my new storage trolley makes a uebeaut drying rack

If you are looking for a 12V 7.2Ah battery try Olympic batteries on the corner of South and Grand Junction (dunno if they are south of town too)
Last price I got was under $25.
I know battery world are about double that.

Squid.
